HASTINGS, MI – Evelyn Doreen Sprague, age 85, of Hastings, died Monday, Aug. 17, 2020 in Hastings.
Evelyn was born on Oct. 9, 1934 in Hastings and had previously lived part-time in Akumal, Mexico and Vero Beach, FL. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth Sprague.
Evelyn was employed at E.W Bliss for several years before founding K&E Tackle, Inc. with her husband, Ken, manufacturing and distributing fishing lures throughout the country.
Evelyn and Ken enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S, Canada and Mexico. Evelyn and Ken were regulars at the Moose and Elks lodge dances in the past and enjoyed gathering with friends. She enjoyed camping, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Evelyn quit her position in the family business the day her first grandchild was born, and spent as much time as possible with each of her grandkids.
Her survivors include daughter Kathy (Gordon) Howes of Hastings, Ken Sprague, Jr. of Hastings, son James (Jennifer) Sprague; grandchildren, Clayton Sprague, William Sprague, Daniel Sprague, Emily Sprague, and step-grandson, Chad Howes. She is also survived by brothers, Robert Bryans, Richard Bryans; sisters, Betty James, Belva Barry, and Elaine Cooley.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Myrtle Bryans.

There is no memorial service planned at this time. The family request that donations be made to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Evelyn.
