Terri Lynne DeWitt, age 59, of Hastings passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, Aug., 5, 2020. Terri was born on August 7, 1960 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Floyd and Carol (Wolfe) Etts. Terri was a loyal employee at Richard Allen for 10 years before working at Walters-Dimmick Petroleum in Delton. At Walters-Dimmick Petroleum she was proud to be employee of the month two times and also employee of the year once. In her free time, Terri enjoyed camping, riding motorcycles, fishing, deer hunting, bowling, rock collecting, mushroom hunting, dancing, and music- especially Bob Seger. She loved living at her home for the past 35 years. Most important to Terri was her family whom she loved and cared for. Terri is survived by her best friend and loving husband, Steve; daughters, Misty Sherer, Heather (Bill) Lane, and Bobbie Sue Beach; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; siblings: Andy (Joyce) Etts, Tina (Steve) Case, Penney (Jeff) Wheeler, and Floyd (Paula) Etts; several nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends, Tim and Sis Purdum. Terri was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Carol Etts; sister, Lori Tyler; brother-in-law, Vernard DeWitt; grandparents; and mother-in-law, Sharron DeWitt. Terri’s funeral service will be conducted on Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, 1 p.m. at TVC Church-Hastings. Those who wish to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the needs of the family.
