Keith Donald Adams, born May 10, 1926, passed away on July 24, 2020 at Spectrum-Blodgett Hospital after contracting the coronavirus.
Keith was born and raised in Middleville, son of Olney and Mabel (Fahrnow) Adams. Keith was raised on a farm on Cherry Valley Road and later built a house on Parmalee Road where they raised their family.
Keith drove truck for Interstate Motor Freight and Consolidated Freightway in Grand Rapids until his retirement in 1988. Before retirement, vacations consisted of camping with family and friends until purchasing a get-a-way place in Irons. There, Keith and Maggie enjoyed years of snowmobiling with friends and having kids and grandkids join in the outdoor fun year-round.
Keith was always up to something, building or fixing things in the pole barn, playing cards, bowling and telling jokes. One of Keith’s many talents was teaching his grandkids “life skills” and joyfully sharing his antics with everyone who crossed his path. Keith was a master at “power naps,” they just got longer as he aged.
After retirement, Keith and Maggie enjoyed traveling and eventually landed in North Fort Myers, FL for the winters. For 20+ years, Keith and Maggie found a community of new friends at Raintree. Here is where they enjoyed life to its fullest with friends that are like family. In 2017, after traveling became more difficult, Keith and Maggie decided to move into a retirement community year-round in Michigan at Sentinel Pointe.
Keith is survived his loving wife of 55 years, Margaret Ann (Cundiff) Adams; daughters, Char Mello, Deb Schollaart and Sue (Dan) Finkbeiner; grandchildren, Don (Mandy-deceased) Mello, Brian (Heather) Mello, Courtney (Brian-deceased) Appel, Amanda (Jason) Reed, Katrina (Matt) Lafferty, Adam (Brittany) Schollaart, Jake (Tricia) Finkbeiner; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Helen (Louis) Crawford.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vada (Fox) Adams; siblings, Clint, Dale and Opal Adams; son, Bill (Linda) Rich; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Keith has been cremated and services will be published at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Keith and Maggie’s wishes are for donations to be made for their great-grandson, Deaken’s, care expenses. Please send in care of Char Mello, 6724 Gracepoint Dr SE, Caledonia, MI. 49316.
