Rudolph Bilek


Rudolph “Rudy” F. Bilek, age 91, of Delton passed away at his home on Saturday, July 18, 2020, just 10 days shy of his 92nd birthday. Rudy was born, July 28, 1928, in Holland, the son of Joseph and Mary (Otys) Bilek. A veteran, Rudy proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Occupation of Japan following WWII. A loyal employee of Consumers Energy, Rudy retired in 1990 with over 38 years of service. Rudy was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, the Delton V.F.W. Post 422, the American Legion Post 484 in Hickory Corners, and the Delton Moose Lodge 1649. In his younger years, Rudy played semi-professional football for the Holland Hurricanes, and dressed up as Santa during the holidays for many years. His favorite saying, especially for technology was, “Just go throw it in the lake”. Most important to Rudy was his family, whom he loved to spend time with. On October 11, 1952, he married the love of his life Phyllis E. Bilek, who passed away December 23, 2012. Rudy is survived by his children, David (Janice) Bilek, Sharon Klaasen, Doug Klaasen, and Brian (Katie) Bilek; grandchildren, Michelle (Randy), Kristen, Nicole (Darrel), Amanda, Craig (Amber), Shane, Colin, Liam; great grandchildren, Tanner, Maddison, Sophia; and several nieces and nephews. Rudy was also preceded in death by his parents and his siblings. A private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Delton. Burial tookplace in Cedar Creek Cemetery.
