Ronald Lee Wilson


Ronald Lee Wilson, age 85, of Delton, passed away on June 7, 2020. Ron was born on October 14, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Robert and Emma (Claar) Wilson. Ron earned his master’s degree from the University of Dayton and started teaching in 1960 at West Carrollton Junior High School before becoming principal at Walter Shade Elementary School in 1965. Ron proudly served six years with the United States Air Force Reserves. He was a longtime member of Faith United Methodist Church in Delton. Ron was a member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge 207 and Hickory Corners Masonic Lodge 345 of The F. & A.M. He was also involved with the Bedford chapter of the Royal Arch Masons, Bedford Chapter Council, Bedford Order of the Eastern Star, Battle Creek Commandry, York Rite College, Valley of Grand Rapids Scottish Rite, Saladin Shriners, Battle Creek Shrine Club and Mini-T Patrol, and Kalamazoo Area Masonic Retirees Club. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed sailing on Wall Lake, fishing, and making and collecting fishing lures. On June 25, 1961 Ron married the love of his life, the former Margaret Jones, who survives. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Helen Lewis. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joel Wilson and sister, Kay Daum. Ron’s memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, July 25, 2020, 11 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church. Burial took place at Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton, Ohio.
