Russell Roy Wilkins, age 60, passed away on July 13, 2020 in Byron Center. He was born in Hastings, on February 16, 1960 the son of Russell and Donna (Kidder) Wilkins. Russell was a 1978 graduate of Thornapple-Kellogg High School and worked for Charleton Park and Environmental Coatings. He was a fabricator/developer. He enjoyed gardening, farming, camping, music, attending festivals and concerts, and doing anything that involved the love of his life, Lorena Jo Wright. Russ loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and he was quite the armchair politician. He was passionate about everything he did. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Donna Wilkins; his life partner, Lorena Jo Wright; sister, Debra Demond; sister, Marsha (Wilkins) Sinclair, and stepson, Shawn Biek. He is survived by sons, Rick Wilson, David Hoaglin, Christopher Hoaglin, daughters Elizabeth Wilkins, Cherie Hoaglin, Dannielle Wilkins; grandchildren, Dylan Hoaglin, Paige Hoaglin, Alex Hoaglin, Chris Hoaglin, Jr., Lillian Hoaglin, Ethan Hoaglin, Abbigail Hoaglin, Jacob Edward Miller, Hunter Jay Bierens, and Shawn Patrick Fewless. In lieu of flowers, boxes will be available for cards or any other contributions at the Celebration of Life Gathering, which will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 3 p.m. at 2776 Woodruff Road, Hastings.
