Shirley J. Dodde-Brown, age 69, of Lake Odessa went to be with her Lord unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 15, 2020.
Shirley was born on March 25, 1951 in Cadillac, to Harm and Geneva (Comdure) Dodde. She was a teacher at Lakewood Public Schools for over 30 years where she taught many subjects.
Shirley had a love of reading, travel, walking and gardening or just being outside. Volunteering with Spectrum Hospice was very important to her as well. Shirley had recently been able to travel to Italy which fulfilled a long time personal life goal of hers. In 1981 she married Gilbert Brown, and they enjoyed recent winters at their house in Arizona.
She will be dearly missed by husband, Gilbert A. Brown; children, Richard Brown, Erin (Randy) Fosburg and Samuel Brown; grandchildren, James, Aiyana, Cheyana and Savanna; siblings, Duane (Ellie), Harold (Ruth), Ivan (Lori), Carl ( Marjon) and Ruthann, along with many nieces and nephews and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Mark.
According to her wishes cremation was performed and a private memorial will take place.
