Phyllis May Burpee age 86, of Charlotte, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on December 7, 2020. Phyllis was born on May 30, 1934, the daughter of Carl Damon and Elizabeth (Stutz) Warner. Phyllis was a 1952 graduate of Hastings High School. She was married to Gordon Lee Burpee for 42 years until his passing on Good Friday in 2000. Phyllis worked as a Nurses Aid at Pennock Hospital, and then for Hastings Manufacturing for 26 years until her retirement in 1993. Phyllis loved to travel, making many trips to Florida, Georgia, and North Dakota. She also loved feeding and photographing the hummingbirds, working in her flower beds, and mowing her lawn. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and knitting, making many beautiful quilts. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Damon, Elizabeth; step-parents, Dewey Roush, Neva Warner; husband, Gordon, and brother, Robert. Phyllis is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Mary) Burpee, Bonnie Bosserd, Gary (Peggy) Burpee, Gregory Burpee, Matthew Burpee; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard; sister, Shirley, Connie, and step-sisters, Carol, Becky and Linda. A private family service will be at Grace Community Church in Nashville on December 10, 2020 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Don Roscoe officiating.
