Shirley Anne Lumbert, age 78, of Hastings, passed away on November 8, 2020. Shirley was born on January 5, 1942, the daughter of Donald C. and Ruth (Bruce) Douglas. She was a 1960 graduate of Hastings High School. Shirley worked for many years at Elias Brothers Big Boy and Baby Bliss, Inc. Shirley was a member of the Hastings Baptist Church, and for the past four years a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. Shirley attended the Barry County Commission on Aging and really enjoyed coloring and drawing. She took a big interest in Native American History and had a large Native American Collection. She loved to laugh and had a unique jokester personality – loving to joke and have fun. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Ruth Douglas; brother, Bruce Douglas, and daughter, Rebecca (Lambert) Burton. She is survived by her son, Michael (Lori) Lumbert; daughter, Sandy (John) Wilkins; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchilden, and (Shirley’s inside joke) her brother’s wife, Roberta Douglas. A graveside service will be held on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Hastings Township Cemetery, 2475 McKeown Rd.; Hastings, MI 49058.
