Patricia Elaine (Sullivan) Jatel, age 94, of Caledonia, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020 at Legacies Assisted Living. Patricia was born on April 15, 1926 in Grand Rapids to John and Wilma (Alego) Bolhuis. She worked as the administrative secretary to the superintendent for Thornapple Kellogg Schools for over 20 years. Patricia loved spending her summers at her “Home Cottage” in Traverse City where she enjoyed fishing, swimming, golfing and playing cribbage. She was very creative and could be found doing various types of needle work, playing the organ, writing poetry, reading and working word puzzles. Patricia was a very loving mother and enjoyed having family gatherings with her children and grandchildren. Patricia will be dearly missed by her children, Steven (Jan) Sullivan, Joan Hixson, Linda Sullivan; grandchildren, Jill (Jeff) Sullivan, Erin (Vince) Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan, Cody Finkbeiner, Chelsea (Neal) Gurgone, Thomas Tabor; great grandchildren: Andrew Sullivan, Alex and Benji Danielski, Jacksten and Bennett Finkbeiner, Alexis and Ashton Gurgone. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Robert Sullivan; second husband, Chester Jatel; siblings, Jerrie McKowen, Jack Bolhuis. A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held and she will be laid to rest at Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital will be appreciated.
