Lyle Emerson Stalter, age 85, of Clarksville passed away at his home surrounded by his family on May 5, 2020. Lyle was born on December 2, 1934 in Lake Odessa to Emerson and Frances (Batchelor) Stalter. He was an avid trap shooter, competing and earning many awards (MUCC State Shoot, 1970 Champion Team and 1996 High Gun Award amongst others). Lyle worked at Diamond Reo in Lansing building semi-trucks, and Snyder’s Farm Services repairing tractors and combines. He was an avid NASCAR fan and known for his vegetable garden and love of farming and old tractors. He will be dearly missed by children, Phillip Stalter, Laurie (Jim) Overbeck, Donna (Dave) Quillan, Alan (Kim) Stalter, and Brenda Stalter; grandchildren, Nathaniel (Katy) Stalter, Rhianna (Matt) Misner, Wendy (Keith Dunham) Overbeck, Shannon (Chad) Perkins, Jeremy (Louise) Overbeck, Lindsey (Eric) Possehn, Andy (Jessica) Quillan, Thomas (Abby) Stalter, Jamie (Noah Grawburg) Stalter, Katherine and Lizzy Wilcox; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings: Larry Stalter, Dale (Margaret) Stalter, and Carole (Dave) Emory; in-laws: Charlie Stiles and Dale ‘Butch’ (Carole) Stiles. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Patricia Ann Stalter, and infant son, Brian. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date.
