Onilee Hope Davie


Onilee “Lee” Hope Davie, 85, of Battle Creek passed away on May 3, 2020 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law surrounded by her family. Lee was born on February 17, 1935 in Petrolia, Canada, the daughter of George and Missle Thomas. Lee worked at Delton Kellogg Schools in the superintendent and elementary office for 22 years before retiring in 1997. On August 24, 1960 she married Edward Joseph Davie in Lincoln Park. She is survived by her son, Carl (Nena) Phee of Wyoming; daughter, Onilee (Timothy) O’Meara of Battle Creek; son, Thomas (Elaine) Phee of Norton Shores, and daughter, Renee (Kevin) Wakefield of Ohio; grandchildren, Tammy (Bill) Duff, Stacie Phee (Bryan Maas), Timberlee (John) Sebright, Richard (Marci) Phee, Sheyanne (Derek) LaCaze, and Robin (Jason) Heeres; great-grandchildren, Hayden Duff, Brendan Duff, Tyler Sebright, Caleb Sebright, Bayleigh Sebright, Charlie Phee, Alice Phee, Aiden Heeres and Will Heeres; special friends, Robin Frohlich and Faith Greer; and many in-laws and many friends. Lee enjoyed gardening and tending to her yard. She was a talented sewer who loved to make blankets and clothes. She enjoyed to cross-stitch and crochet. She was very devoted to her family and loved to attend her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s events. She truly enjoyed granny sitting her “greats” as she called them. She loved going on mother/daughter adventures. She enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and Las Vegas and going on cruises. She was loved by all and will be truly missed. Lee was preceded in death by her husband Edward Davie and her parents. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, a celebration of Lee’s life will take place at a later time.
